January

This is my first post for the year 2012, but I really don't have that much to catch up on.
I spent new years with some friends in Logan and Preston. It was probably one of the most fun New Years I have ever had! I was glad to bring in the new year on a good note, and I hope it was a reflection of how 2012 is going to treat me! I hope this is my year!
The new semester started, and this is definitely my busiest semester yet! I am not even working this semester, but my classes keep me super busy. They are full of groups projects, tests, homework, service, and more projects!! It keeps me on my toes! I am almost ready for another break though!! I've also been volunteering at the Person's with Disabilities Center on campus. I really love it. Taking the time to help out there, helps me to forget my own problems and realize what the important things in life are. I am grateful for experiences like that.

Wedding bells seem to be ringing as well! Definitely not for me, but I have so many close friends that are engaged!! I am so excited for them and I am excited for all of their weddings this summer!

When I haven't been in school, my spare time has been filled with naps (of COURSE!! What college student doesn't love their daily nap?), running, and spending time with friends. This semester I have already made so many great friendships. The most fun people live in my building and I am thankful for all of them! They are all so fun!

'Twas the days before Christmas

It is safe to say that this holiday season was the best I have ever had!
How could close to a month being devoted to family, giving, and the SAVIOR not be a jolly time? All I really wanted for Christmas this year was to be surrounded by family. It is not very often that all my siblings and their darling families can all be together, but when we are there is nothing better. I have the greatest family ever. The most giving, caring, funny parents. The nicest, smartest, relaxed brothers. The cutest, best mom ever, fun sisters. The nephews that keep me on my toes and smiling. And the nieces who simply make my heart melt.
We all had so much fun together, and I couldn't have asked for a better break!

Presley and I pulled out the nativity costumes a few days early.

Ugly Sweaters & Christmas Lights

Oh, how I love Christmas time!! It is such a wonderful time of year!
I was able to put on my snazzy Christmas sweater with my roommates and we snapped a few cheesy photos to send out with our Christmas cards!

This past Saturday I was able to go to Temple Square with some friends as well! I LOVE going to Temple Square to see the lights! All my roommates but one had dates, so my roommate Tara was my date! It was such a fun night in the city and got me in the Christmas Spirit! Now just a few more days and I will be headed home for the holidays. I can't wait to see my family :)

Merry Christmas!!!

thankFULL

i'm thankful for...

family, food, a cozy home, a break from school, black friday shopping, cooking with my mom, long naps & EVERYTHING else thatwas involved with my thanksgiving :)

But really, I have so much to be thankful for. i am a faithful nightly journal keeper and for the month of november i decided to switch it up a little. at the end of each day as i got in my bed i pulled out the old journal and only wrote things i was thankful for that day. at first, i thought i would run out of things to say by like the third day, but everyday i lost track of time as i wrote down each thing. i am thankful for the big things. i am thankful for the little things. i am thankful for the important things. and i am thankful for the stupid unimportant things that keep life interesting.

all i know is i have so much to be
.::THANKFUL::.
for

this year thanksgiving was pretty low key. i was expecting it to be just my and my {wonderful} parents, but my josh & his cute little fam ended up coming as well! i was excited to have j.j. and carter around. they brought some excitement.

now i just wait until the next holiday when i get to see my ENTIRE family. all the siblings & nieces & nephews. i honestly can't wait.

tick-tock

Time just seems to be going faster and faster. I am not even actually quite sure where it is going! Another semester is about over, and when I was thinking about it... I am not quite sure what I have accomplished in the past few months, but here are some of the things I have been up to!

I have definitely tapped into my homemaking skills more than ever before. I am pretty into cooking lately. Strange...But I like it! Cooking really doesn't take much more time, and the more time I spend cooking equals less time eating and that is REALLY good for me. Pinterest might have a little to do with it as well :) I have also really enjoyed cleaning. I find myself willingly doing my roommates dishes, something that I NEVER would have done before. I guess I am just growing up! I used to hate to admit it, but now I couldn't be happier that I am turning out to be exactly like my mom and sisters. Those three woman are really the greatest. If I turn out to be half of what they are, I think I will have lived a good life.

I have really been enjoying school! When I look back on it, I feel like this semester should have been way tough. The classes I am taken are really pretty hard, but they have so much to do with my major so it is super interesting to me. My classes this semester have made me positive that I am studying for the right career. Even though I have grad school ahead of me, I know that when I become a speech-language pathologist, I will be able to help others enrich their lives. It will be so rewarding.

I have been going on dates. But let's not talk about boys.

It'll happen someday :)

I have been Country Dancing a lot more lately. I LOVE country dancing. It is definitely the place to be at 10:30 every Wednesday night in Logan, utah!! I just love the atmosphere and the music. Makes me feel a little more at home I think.

I love aggie basketball, and I am glad some games have started up again J Going to the USU vs BYU was probably the greatest game ever!

Well I think that is about all I have been up to! But life is good, and I am ready for the excitement the holidays are going to bring!

I live with them...

This year I have been blessed to live with some amazing girls. This year I have realized how great of an impact roommates and neighbors can have on someone. Last year my roommates were great, but I am already so much closer to my roommates this year than I was last! Each one is so different and I am so grateful for how much fun they have allowed me to have this year.

Meet the Girls from {K}ampus {K}orner #8
Tara Norris is from Colorado. I can't remember the name of her town, but as far as I can recall it is a cute boy name like parker or porter or something. Tara & Courtney are cousins. Tara is the youngest of us all. Tara is always up for a good time. Tara and I have super opposite schedules. I am done with all my stuff for the day by the time she wakes up and I am to bed before sleep even crosses her mind. Tara has celiac disease so she has to eat gluten-free food. I always feel bad when I offer her cookies, or bread, or quesadillas, and she laughs every time. Tara is someone that everyone can talk to and she always has great insight! I love Tara Norris.

Missy Bevan is crazy. hahaha Missy and I both took anatomy (aka DEATH) together this summer. We didn't even know each other, but then one day we discovered that we were going to be living in the same apartment! Small World!! Missy is quite energetic and can always make me laugh! She is from Kaysville. Missy aka Melissa makes me feel good because she always tells me that I am her favorite roommate. I am not sure how true that statement is, but I will milk it for all it is worth :) I love Missy Bevan.

Kenzie Sutton is from Sandy. Kenzie is super cute and fun! She isn't around much though, because she has a significant other who goes to UVU. When Kenzie is around she always has a story to tell! Hopefully I will get to know more of kenzie throughout the year, but I love Kenzie Sutton.

Lindsey Berg lives upstairs with me!! Lindsey is also so very nice!! She is also from kaysville. Lindsey always has lots of good ideas, and she does lots of thoughtful things for others. I think there is a lot I can learn from Lindsey. I love Lindsey Berg.

Courtney Toolson is my best friend. Courtney is from Green River, Wyoming and the only roommate I new prior to moving in here! We planned to live together and I am so glad we did! I think that Court and I are so different, but we think the same. We have so many ideas together and we can talk for hours. We often have sleepovers upstairs in my room in my twin bed :) We go on run/walks together. And we always decide we are going to eat super healthy and then end up making a batch of cookie dough and eating it all the same night! We have the same major and we are in sign language class together. This results in us often acting deaf :) I am so grateful for Courtney and I know she is a huge reason why this year has been so great for me!

I am so excited for what this year holds for all of us. I know a lot will change, but I know as it does we will all become closer. I have always wished my life away, but I have realized that I need to enjoy every moment. This time of my life is so so so so great, but so so so short!

Forever blue*

This past week was homecoming week here at USU.
It was full of non-stop fun!

EEarlier in the week I played on a poweder-puff football team. We didn't win but it was fun and I got a free shirt and free chick-fil-a!
FFriday night was when the real excitement took place.
Friday was true aggie night (nope, I'm not a true aggie...yet!) But USU also decided that they were going to set the world record for the World's longest kissing chain. Officials from the Guinness Book of World Records was there, so it was legit. I wasn't planning on taking part in this, but after a long day at work I needed some fun so jill, court, and I headed up to the quad! Utah State Broke the record with 1,100+ people participating. Smoochin' 2 random people was definitely one of the craziest things I have ever done, but it was hilarious!
And the best part... I had the FINAL kiss of the entire chain.
Sorry mom :) haha
I felt pretty special! haha
My picture may or may not make it in the book. We will have to see!

This is the kid I kissed the very last. He started the chain with a girl then it went all the way around and then we ended it. All I knew about him was his name, but later that night, I came to find out that he went to high school and friends with all of my neighbors from Preston! Small world! haha

Friends at the kissing chain.

Saturday I walked in the parade with the COMD program. It was fun and good to get to know lots of people in it!

And you can't forget about the FOOTBALL game. I went with a bunch of people that went around me. We lost in double over-time but it was lots of fun!

Now it is time to buckle down and hit the books once again!
